Economizing Yield of Oat (Avena sativa L.) Cultivar through Integrated Nutrient Management under Red and Lateritic Soil of West Bengal

Abstract

A field experiment was conducted during rabi season of 2014–15 at agriculture research farm, Palli Siksha bhavana (Institute of Agriculture), Visva-Bharati, Sriniketan, West Bengal to study the effect of integrated nutrient management in oat under lateritic soil. The experiment was conducted in randomized block design taking 11 treatments, where different biofertilizers with 25% reduced dose of chemical fertilizers assuming 25% nutrient supply of total nutrients fulfilled by respective biofertilizers, and were replicated thrice. Azotobacter + PSB + KSB + ZnSB + 75% N, P, K & Zn (T6) resulted highest gross return (Rs. 48,016), net economic return (Rs. 26, 606) and return rupee-1 invested (Rs. 2.24) among all the treatments.
