Groundwater Level Monitoring of Kajaleshwar-Warkhed Watershed, Tq. Barshitakli, Dist. Akola, India Through GIS Approach

Abstract

In the present study widening and deepening of drainage line (nala) has been done and the existing rainwater harvesting permanent structure (CNB) has been restructured at Kajaleshwar-Warkhed watershed in Barshitakli taluka of Akola district. The monitoring of surrounding wells has been done. The water level data was monitored for the years 2015 pre-monsoon (before implementation of the project) and 2016 pre-monsoon (after implementation of the project) in this watershed. Well location map is prepared with help of Arc GIS 10.1v software and the variation of groundwater level maps have prepared from IDW method and GIS technique. The locations of the observation wells were transformed on the base map in GIS software. From the comparison of data it is observed that due to rainwater harvesting and recharge through the structure, the well water levels in 2016 has been increased as compared to the water levels in 2015. The impact analysis is presented in this paper.
